Most of us have survived the last two years living on streaming services. Netflix has released several shows and movies over the past few years that have received critical acclaim. It no longer just offers content from other networks, but also creates originals that have helped us while away our time. 2022 is looking to be no different, with a variety of shows and movies expected to release this year.

If you want to enhance your streaming experience, sign up for the Spectrum Gold package and enjoy speeds of up to 200 Mbps. With high-speed internet, you will be able to improve your streaming experience and enjoy Ultra HD and 4K videos. Without further ado, here are some of the shows we will be bingeing on this year.

Knives Out 2

Coming to Netflix in 2022, the sequel will see the return of Daniel Craig as the detective, Benoit Blanc. With an entirely new cast, the detective will meet a variety of new characters that we know nothing about. However, we do know the A-list cast that will be accompanying Craig on the newest mystery.  Some of these are Ethan Hawke, Kathryn Hahn, Leslie Odom Jr, Dave Bautista, and Edward Norton to name a few. Rian Johnson is returning to direct and we can only hope that the second installment is as intriguing as his first.

The Adam Project

The Adam Project, expected to release on March 11, 2022, is a sci-fi movie featuring Ryan Reynolds in the main role. According to Netflix, the movie will follow Reynolds, a time-traveling pilot, who teams up with his younger self and father (Mark Ruffalo), to save the future.  The cast also includes Zoe Saldana and Catherine Keener in supporting roles.

Inventing Anna

The show follows the real-life events of the con artist, Anna Delvey, who poses as a socialite in New York. Pretending to be a German heiress, the Russian conned banks and other institutions to loan her huge amounts of money by claiming to have a trust fund worth $60 million. Shonda Rhimes has produced the miniseries, with Julia Garner starring as the lead. The first episode is to release on February 11 on Netflix. Until then, take a look at how she came up with the social climber’s unusual accent.

Space Force (Season 2)

The second season of Space Force is set to release on February 18, starring Steve Carell as General Mark R Naird. The first season, while filled with a stellar cast, failed to deliver. The special effects may have made their mark, but the muddled story leaves much to be desired. Steve Carell fans will be glad to see him on screen again, and we can hope that the second season can bring out the talent that the show undoubtedly has in its arsenal.

The Gray Man

Another A-List lineup that Netflix has scheduled for release this year is the highly-anticipated, The Gray Man. The project is directed by the Russo Brothers and stars Chris Evans, Ryan Gosling, and Ana De Armas. This action-thriller follows the story of Gentry, a CIA operative who escapes from prison and finds himself being hunted down.

Bridgerton (Season 2)

The first season of Bridgerton followed the story of eight siblings of the Bridgerton family, with a strong focus on their personal lives. The eight episodes followed the eldest daughter trying to find a suitable partner that the upper class has to offer and finally choosing the elusive bachelor after weeks of fake dating. The second season will not see the return of the fan-favorite Regé-Jean Page, playing the Duke, but will instead focus on the oldest child in the family, Anthony Bridgerton, played by Jonathan Bailey.

Stranger Things (Season 4)

The last season of Stranger Things left us at a major cliffhanger. Eleven and the Byers family are seen leaving Hawkins and hopefully their nightmares behind. But when the scene cuts to a Russian facility, fans immediately believed that Hopper, played by David Harbor, didn’t die, but somehow ended up in Russia, indicating that a fourth season was expected. The fourth season is expected to be released in mid-2022 with all the main characters making a comeback.

The Umbrella Academy (Season 3)

The second season left the Hargreaves family returning home from the apocalypse, only to find themselves in another dimension. We are introduced to the Sparrow family that sees the return of their dead brother, Ben, and Reginald Hargraves. Whether the siblings decide to stick around or try to find a way, back to their timeline is yet to be confirmed.

The Final Word

Netflix has a wonderful lineup of shows that are bound to cater to all tastes. Whether you like sci-fi, fantasy, horror, or drama, there is something in there for everyone.
